In 100 years, it's likely that everyone around you will no longer be alive. If you're lucky, you might enjoy 80 summers. Let that sink in.
When we were younger, curiosity led us to new experiences that brought us fun. We didn't think about how short life can be. As we got older, many things started to bore us and we became afraid... afraid of saying the wrong thing... afraid of making the wrong move... afraid of being judged.
If you're not careful, life will scare you until the end when you finally realize that fear was an illusion created by your mind. Of course, fear can be a useful tool to protect us, but most of us tend to overuse it. Think back to all the moments when fear stopped you from doing something. What might you have discovered about yourself if you had chosen to explore more opportunities?
Be brave. Bravery isn't the absence of fear. It's the decision to move anyway. Every brave choice, no matter how small, is a quiet act of rebellion against a life ruled by hesitation. The more often you choose courage, the more alive you feel.
None of us know how much time we have left. Anything can happen. While you're still here, do what you can to live a life that's juicy. One that's filled with new experiences again.
A new experience doesn't always have to be grand. It could be eating at a new restaurant, saying hi to a stranger, or taking a different path to school or work. It forces you to get out of your head and be more in the present moment where all the real juice is. You allow yourself to see life from a different, fresh perspective that is part of what makes life exciting.
Just like anything, the more you practice, the more confident you become. By leaning into saying "yes" to more things, you will experience more freedom to dance with what changes around you.
Change is the only constant. Instead of resisting it, learn to play with it.
